A Royal Affair, Secrets of the Monarch Saturday, July 27th, 2019

The Friends of Villa Terrace Gala in the Garden fundraiser set for Saturday, July 27 is a very special evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing held only once every two years in the Renaissance Garden of Villa Terrace and raises important funds for its care and maintenance.

Chaired by Peabody’s Interiors Designers Emily Winters, Mara Wierschke, Lisa Anne Minneti, Jennifer Schuppie, Geneane Francour, Greg Holm, Tami Stephens, Margaret Schweitz and Vice Chair Kelly Boecker and honoring architect and neighbor Wade Weissmann for his design legacy.

The theme “A Royal Affair, Secrets of The Monarch” celebrates the current exhibition of British Royal Photographs collected by Northpoint neighbors Jodi and John Eastberg and the new Butterfly Garden - the only one of its kind at a Milwaukee County Museum - scheduled to open in August.

A.O. Smith Corporation continues their generous support to be the Gala’s Presenting Sponsor. The Honorary Co-Chair Roger Smith is a member of the esteemed Milwaukee family who founded the corporation and commissioned architect David Adler to design the villa-style house.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails welcome guests as they enter the Courtyard to bid on a carefully curated selection of silent auction items including a hot-air balloon ride and fresh flower delivery by local florist Belle Fiori. Dinner by Gracious Events and dancing to the live music of Platinum will follow in the Garden. The Live Auction includes a luxury condominium in Key West from rentmyisland.com and a stay at a private Northern Wisconsin retreat. Donations made in the Live Appeal will go to repair the Water Stairs - the iconic and favorite permanent feature in the garden - and will be matched by the Friends of Villa Terrace Board of Directors. There is complimentary valet parking an open bar throughout the evening.

Vice-Chair Kelly Boecker adds “Not only is this Gala the summer’s most memorable evening in the most magical garden. Its larger purpose reaches into the future, to bring in funds to sustain and preserve this unique piece of Milwaukee for generations to come.”
