Sunday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. — Peter Thomas (cello) and Yaniv Dinur (piano)
In this epic program, pianist Yaniv Dinur and MSO cellist Peter Thomas join forces to perform two virtuosic, demanding, and extraordinary beautiful Cello Sonatas written by two piano giants - Chopin and Rachmaninoff. Separated by half a century, both pieces share the same instrumentation and key. But each composer’s sculpting of the relationship between the cello and piano creates two strikingly different worlds of sound.
